Survivor Series is finished and I have to say that it wasn’t really enjoyable for most of the time. At least for me. And as for this is my opinion I stand for it. I mean, seriously: it could have been a great start with the Elimination Match but Dean Ambrose eliminated as the first wrestler after around two minutes killed it for me. Mostly because him starting like the famous Duracell bunny on speed was great to watch. But because he couldn’t leave alone the referee he was pinned by surprise by Rhodes and counted out. There were some good moves by Rey Mysterio but otherwise and especially with Roman Reigns as the winner versus Cody Rhodes at the end I wasn’t too enthusiastic. Even the behind the scenes celebration video by The Shield got me more into it than the actual fight.
After the Intercontinental Championship match that Big E Langston could win there was the Divas 7 vs 7 Elimination Match. Something to forget really. But there is one question: what is so damn special about AJ Lee? Her bodyguard Tamina Snuka (who is the only one of the Divas I slightly enjoy to watch) does the whole work for her and then AJ pins one but fails to stand just ten seconds against the winner of it later. I don’t really get it. For my liking that’s not Champion material at all. Another fight I have barely watched was the next one: Ryback vs Mark Henry. Henry won which was good but I didn’t really care. Next fight was the same: I mean John “Who Cares” Cena vs Alberto Del Rio. Who on Earth really expected another outcome of this match than a win by Cena? The most annoying fact about this match was that the whole scenario lasted the lot of 32 minutes. It felt even longer, believe me.
But after that I finally got another match I was looking forward to: CM Punk and Daniel Bryan vs The Wyatt Family. I wasn’t really excited because of this character DB has to play and the Wyatt’s I don’t like to see at all. I could take ‘The Beard and The Best’ more seriously than I do if DB would act more like a grown human being and not a dwarf out of a dark swamp. But that’s the fault of WWE not of DB. The fight itself only took just over fifteen minutes with the last two minutes the most and only enjoyable. Infact I thought it would just kick start from when Punk finally fought like he can. The previous fight was all about Punk and DB get beaten up by the Wyatt’s, Punk laying outside of the ring and Punk and DB kicking Erick Rowan at his legs knee height. Most notable was that Punk got another new shirt plus some other stuff (he does have more WWE merch at the moment than John Cena and this fact alone tells me that the WWE knows for sure with whom the can make the most of money but in the ring they seem to have no clue what to do with Punk) and that his yellow trunks do indeed hide nothing. But the WWE cameras were aware of that and showed only Punk’s back or – when his front – then just until above his trunks. At least it’s a children’s program, too, you know!
The so-called main event and the last fight of Survivor Series was boring like this now famous bag of rice in China. Randy Orton had appeared backstage three times already always asking The Authority if they indeed wouldn’t help him during his match versus Big Show. No physical interference was promised and kept except for the fact that they just made their entrance when Randy Orton was about to lose. Orton then used the interruption and won it. But the whole match before was boring – mostly because of Big Show, who is as slow as my dead great-grandmother. But also the audience in Boston was terrible not just some fights. When the majority of wrestlers have to call for their voices then there has to be a strange mood around the arena. And as a wrestler fighting in front of such boring fans I wouldn’t care much about the fight as well. Both parties have to incite and interact with each other. When this connection is missing the whole event will fail. And so it was for me.
Or as DB and Punk had to say after they were asked if the two of them would continue as a Tag Team: “Yes? No? I don’t know!”
You still want to know the worst fact from this Survivor Series I haven’t told you so far? Well, alright, you wanted it. You get it: we will have a John “Who Cares” Cena vs Randy “Complains Too Much These Days” Orton feud for a unification match most probably to happen at Wrestlemania XXX with a very certain outcome. Any opinions on that?
