While Dean Ambrose was in Shakespearean mood, Bray Wyatt tried to make his mind up and get his message over. But he still speaks in riddles. And Dean Ambrose prefers to play with pumpkins, skeletons, brooms and Halloween candy.
Bray Wyatt brings in a mysterious female person
The finish of SmackDown started with a promo by Bray Wyatt inside the ring. Here are his words:
“All Hallows Eve. Today is a very, very special day. Because today, all of you get to pretend to be someone, or something that you are not. And have you ever, have you ever stopped to wonder why, why it is that camouflage and costuming yourselves makes you feel so comfortable? Why wear a mask? Is it to hide from all the horrors of the world? Or maybe it’s to hide the fact that you hate everything about your normal every day horrible lives! Regardless, you cannot play pretend forever. As a matter of fact, tomorrow morning when you wake up, you go back to being just another one of those anonymous souls. But Dean, but Dean Ambrose, Dean Ambrose is different. Dean Ambrose doesn’t get to take his mask off, he waves it around for the world to see on a daily basis! And you love him, and you love him, and you love him for it, and you can’t understand why. Why? It’s because he is different. He is nothing like anyone of you. Dean Ambrose is like me. He’s a creature, an animal, Dean Ambrose is a monster! And if anyone can imagine what that rush felt like when you finally had Seth Rollins all alone in that cell, and you were beating the life out of him mercilessly – I understand Dean, because I know, I know what it feels like to have something breathing right in the midst of your closing hands. And I can feel right now what that power is like! Because, in that moment, you are not just a man. In that moment, you are immortal. In that moment, you are something greater. Because in that moment, you have the power to take it all away. I know who you are, Dean Ambrose, and I know all of the horrible things that you have done. But as long as my eyes are locked on you, you don’t get to just walk your filthy hands away! Your sins will stain you forever! And I thought that you’d really just like to know, Dean, that she still cries for you… Find me, Dean! Follow The Buzzards.”
What to make of Bray Wyatt’s riddles?
Like always it’s very open to interpretation what Bray Wyatt was telling us. Of course, he started with talking about Halloween and all the fun that comes with dressing as somebody or something else. Good old pagan fun. But then he created some heat within the audience by telling them that it’s with reason that people like to put a mask on. And quite frankly, most people wear a mask on a daily basis. On Halloween they just reveal it. Because everyone out there hides behind something he or she is afraid of. So, everyone builds a wall around their bodies to cover themselves from all the evil in the world.
And that lead him to Dean Ambrose because like him, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose walks through his life without a mask on. He is his self and he shows it to everyone. What you see is what you get. That’s basically a reference to old Dean Ambrose promos because he always said that he doesn’t hide his inner self from the outside world. He reveals everything, so he can’t be hurt. But, like Bray Wyatt hinted at the end of his promo, there is some certain “she” who still cries for him. Maybe some people think that he referred to Sister Abigail. But that wouldn’t make any sense. Instead, one old FCW promo by Dean Ambrose came to mind:
On 15 April 2012 Dean Ambrose defeated James Bronson with the Regal Stretch. And William Regal, who was on commentary, left because he felt embarrassed by this move done by Dean Ambrose again. Dean Ambrose on the other side went backstage to cut a promo on William Regal and his disappointment with him. In this promo he also told us that drugs took his mom, the police took his dad and social workers took his little cousin. He revealed that he took care of her when she was taken away from him. So, this is the only “she” I can think of with listening to Bray Wyatt’s hints. Bray Wyatt could try to get into Dean Ambrose’s mind with reminding him of the pain he felt back then to bring back this exact pain. But I’m not really sure why he would do that? Maybe to weaken Dean Ambrose, so he would be open minded to join his family?
The only obstacle for this explanation is time. Because WWE often thinks that wrestling fans only remember stuff that happened within the last two weeks. So, going back around two and a half years to a backstage promo that many people won’t know, seems like impossible. But they could show this little segment during another Bray Wyatt promo to make fans remember or see it for the first time.
But maybe it’s something completely different. Maybe we will get to know. Maybe Bray Wyatt keeps talking in riddles. We will see for sure.
The funniest match of the year
First of all: Is there a Slammy for this category? If not, it needs to be introduced! Because everything in wrestling that counts should be fun. And this special Halloween “Trick or Street” match was fun from start to finish. It started off with kind of Halloween music and the ring was packed with all stuff Halloween: lots of pumpkins with funny faces, two skeletons, a few tombstones and candy on tables, a broom and tubs with apples in water. I’m always hyped when Dean Ambrose’s music is cut just to start with Cesaro’s music. I still think that the previous sirens were better than the current ambulance sirens but it’s still good for heart beat speeding up a little bit. I also haven’t seen one single bad Dean Ambrose vs Cesaro match, and from the pictures I had previously seen, I knew that this would be great.
Now this match was dominated for a long time by a orange coloured Kendo stick swinging Cesaro. He was actually beating the hell out of Dean Ambrose but the latter definitely had the shining moments. He dropkicked Cesaro with a bucket full of candy, so the candy went flying and it was a shame that Cesaro wasn’t able to throw the bucket a little bit further so the candy could actually fly into the first rows of the audience. But I’m quite sure that people were given the candy after the show anyway. Dean Ambrose also killed a skeleton by separating its body from the head that remained on top of the pole. After the match, Dean Ambrose used this very skull to recreate the famous scene from Hamlet. Brilliant. Now with the body of the skeleton he beat up Cesaro and shortly after that he used a broom to jump from the middle rope to dropkick Cesaro into a table. He also used the nice arranged pumpkins by Cesaro to throw the man into his own creation. And last but not least: he put a pumpkin onto Cesaro’s head to hit him with Dirty Deeds 2.0 for the win after almost ten minutes.
Now, not everyone was able to see the fun side of this match. I’ve read lot of complaints about Cesaro getting buried for what he said in an interview last week. First the quote:
“It is a new era of guys, it’s a new generation, and it’s a lot of fun to watch that because there are fresh match-ups. I mean I’m sick of seeing John Cena against Randy Orton for the 500th time. It’s great that we have some new, young guys that can come out and provide absolutely great match-ups and for the fans there are fresh, exciting matches and things to watch.
So, Cesaro just said what almost every WWE fan is not just thinking but also yelling out at every occasion. I really like Randy Orton inside the ring but in combination with John Cena there is nothing we haven’t seen already for literally five hundred times. I just don’t get what Vince McMahon sees in this match. If he likes it that much he’s got the WWE Network where he can choose from all these matches that happened between these two people. So, if Cesaro is buried because of the truth that WWE or mainly Vince McMahon is more childish than I thought. But let’s face it: Cesaro isn’t well treated for months now. I’ve already written about his use in length, so I don’t need to repeat myself. I like Cesaro matches and I love Cesaro matches with Dean Ambrose. I’d really like to see these two in a feud with each other. But if we are unlucky, Cesaro will leave WWE before that happens when he’s a little bit too fed up with what’s going on in WWE.
And for the fun of it I also put the Halloween edition of “The JBL (not Cole) Show” in here. Happy Halloween”
