“I know that eventually, whether it’ll be now or whether it’ll be in twenty years, Dean Ambrose will be the man that’ll finish me off out of the wrestling business. (…) I honestly couldn’t think of anybody I’ve ever met or seen that I would prefer that to be.”
Well, Dean, it seems that you have an obsession to be the best in the world. And I do admire that. But I have to say, I also feel like you have an obsession with one Mr. William Regal. So let’s start there, tell me your thoughts on Mr. Regal.
Well, my thoughts on, on his Lordship? Do you really have to ask? You already know. Everybody already knows. He couldn’t beat me again in a million years, not in his wildest, wildest dreams. I’ve mastered every move he knows. I know every trick in his book. I know him better than he does. He’s not that smart. He’s never getting to know me.
I got to be honest, this is good. This is good. I think we’re getting somewhere, this, uh… this is good, I just, I… I need a second… just don’t mind… just… uh…
[Cut to reversed roles]
You’re a professional but according to my notes here, this is just a giant waste of time trying to get inside of my head and my so-called obsession with William Regal. Let’s just talk about you, okay? You got a degree in psychology but what you’re really good at? I’ve seen you. I’ve seen you in the gym. I’ve seen you make some big, nasty, ugly dudes tap out. A former cage fighter, former Greco-Roman champion, former bare knuckle fighter mixed martial arts? And you’re back here, wasting your time with this? You know, I bet if you really applied yourself, a little positive thinking, a little positive energy, you can make anybody in FCW tap out in the middle of that ring. That’s the James Bronson, I would like to see.
You know, Dean, what you say makes all the sense in the world. I can make anybody tap out. In fact more than anyone else here, Dean, I’d like to see you tap out.
Dr. Ambrose (laughs)
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. In fact right now, I got a match. So just keep thinking about that. Positive energy!
I’ll be thinking of you.
I’m sure you will. Be the James Bronson you wanna be, whatever that is.
[Cut to Sakamoto vs Dean Ambrose; William Regal stays silent to several questions from his co-commentators until he finally speaks out]
Have you ever faced, either of you ever faced the person that’s gonna be your demise? Because that’s what I look at when I look at Dean Ambrose. That’s why I’m quiet. I know that eventually, whether it’ll be now or whether it’ll be in twenty years, Dean Ambrose will be the man that’ll finish me off out of the wrestling business. I just know it’s coming. And that’s a sobering thought. It’s a sobering thought. (…) And you know what? You know what I’d like to say? I honestly, I honestly couldn’t think of anybody I’ve ever met or seen that I would prefer that to be.
[Dean Ambrose performs Regal Stretch on Sakamoto for the win]
Oh, here we go again, uh… special delivery for you there, Mr. Regal.
First that knee and now the Regal Stretch.
I… I don’t get this.
I get it. It’s all that matters.
This is the way that Dean Ambrose has been finishing off every opponent ever since having that match with you all those months ago. Ambrose can not take his mind off you.
He’s looking over here at you. William, what is going through your head right now?
