On this page you’ll find all merchandize cards from William Regal that were published in 2001 and that I actually own. I don’t copy & paste pictures from all around the internet. So chances are that these aren’t all cards available. If you like to suggest one or more cards for me to complete my collection, just give me a hint in the commentary section on this page. Thanks in advance!

William Regal cards 2001 Text from the reverse side:

Snobby Brit William Regal had recently debuted in the World Wrestling Federation, and set his sights on the European title, which he hoped to rescue from the man he perceived as nothing more than a “boorish American”, Al Snow. However, Regal proved capable of backing his own words, forcing Snow into submission and capturing the Euro Championship for the first time.

Easter egg from the obverse side:

William Regal is holding a copy from William Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet”, probably just reciting from it to annoy the crowd.

William Regal cards 2001 Facts and text from the reverse side:

  • Height: 6’2”
  • Weight: 245 (pounds)
  • From: Blackpool, England
  • Finishing move: The Regal Stretch

William Regal’s old-school wrestling style – and painful Regal Stretch submission – earned him two runs as European Champion. Regal’s corporate politicking, however, helped this self-appointed Goodwill Ambassador capture the biggest prize of his career: appointment as the Federation’s Commissioner. Regal’s in-ring abilities, combined with the power to sign matches and censure opponents, makes the British brawler especially dangerous.

All hail the United Kingdom’s self-appointed goodwill ambassador! William Regal believes himself to be the ultimate embodiment of everything civilized. Some fans feel otherwise. Whatever the case, once on the mat, he’s one of the most dangerous competitors in the world, and has proudly worn the European Championship on more than one occasion.

William Regal cards 2001 Text from the reverse side:

The greatest accomplishment of William Regal’s career might be his appointment as commissioner. Vince McMahon was certainly impressed by Regal’s sophistication, but it was the Goodwill Ambassador’s two tenures as European Champion that earned the CEO’s respect and consideration. A fierce competitor, Regal defended the European title as if the Queen of England had bestowed it on him.

William Regal cards 2001 Text from the reverse side:

Congratulations! You have just received a piece of an official ring skirt.

Well, thank you, William Regal card. It’s not much more to this card than this and, of course, the very skirt piece from one of William Regal’s match worn trunks. Basically tells its very own story. And if they hadn’t washed the trunks before they cut it into little pieces and finally put them into these cards, I would own William Regal’s DNA by now. Just imagine the possibilities…

William Regal cards 2001 Text from the reverse side:

  • RAW is WAR | Card no.: 86
  • Show Enders
  • Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. William Regal

The odds were stacked against Stone Cold as he faced William Regal with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley as the referee. Stephanie refused to count when Austin had Regal covered, but once the British blueblood covered the Rattlesnake, she was more than happy to make a lightning-fast three-count!

Though tainted, Regal’s win over the toughest S.O.B. in the Federation was a major upset.
